LUXX Boutique
Project Details
Location: Ottawa, IL 61350
Industry: Women’s Boutique / Retail Fashion
Website: luxxboutique.com
Before: A Boutique Bursting with Style (and No Digital Home)
Meg and Amber built LUXX Boutique to be the kind of place you walk into and instantly feel cooler. Trendy jeans, flattering dresses, good vibes, and even better people. But for a while, that charm stopped at the front door the online side hadn’t caught up yet. They had Shopify running their POS in-store, but no real online shop. Their brand had sparkle; their website had… a login screen.
They told me, “We want people to shop LUXX the same way they shop in-store easily, confidently, and with style.” I said, “Say less I’ll make sure your online store fits as good as your favorite pair of Judy Blues.”
The Goal: Build an Online Store That Feels Like the Boutique
The mission was simple: create a Shopify site that matched the LUXX in-store experience clean, bold, and fun to shop. It needed to be fast, easy to manage, and mobile-first for customers scrolling while sipping their lattes at Jeremiah Joe’s. We wanted visitors to land on the homepage and instantly think, “Oh yeah… this feels like LUXX.”
What We Built (and Why It Works)
- Platform: Shopify Website using the Dawn Theme
- Pages: Home, Shop, About, Style Journal “Blog”, Contact, and Gift Cards
- Features: 400+ product listings, integrated POS, clean collection filtering, and inventory sync across store and online
The new site is crisp, fast, and fashion-forward everything loads beautifully on mobile, and the checkout is smoother than new denim. We built collections by brand, size, and season, so customers can find what they love in seconds. It’s boutique shopping with zero stress and yes, zero pop-up chaos.
Branding, Copy & Design
LUXX already had their aesthetic nailed: black, white, and bold. We took that and polished it into a professional, high-contrast layout that screams “modern boutique.” Fonts? Avenir for the logo, Assistant for the body minimal, classy, and clear. Every product description sounds like your stylish friend giving you the confidence boost you didn’t know you needed.
The design feels local but LUXX Boutique roots with big-town energy.
SEO & Big Online Energy
We treated this site like a runway debut. Each product and collection page was optimized for search terms like “women’s boutique in Ottawa IL,” “DAZE denim near Starved Rock,” and “where to buy Steve Madden dresses.” We integrated the Style Journal Blog to keep content fresh and feed Google’s appetite for relevance. Every blog post doubles as inspiration *and* SEO fuel bringing in organic traffic month after month.
This is the Big Online Energy Solution in action: stunning visuals meet structured visibility.
Results & Wins
Before: POS-only setup, limited exposure, no online checkout.
After: A polished Shopify store with national-level design, local SEO dominance, and a smoother workflow for staff and customers alike.
Meg said it best: “This site finally matches who we are.” That’s when you know you nailed the fit.
Local Story
I’ve spent a lot of time in downtown Ottawa and LUXX fits right into the heartbeat of this town. From wine nights at August Hill to weekend shopping trips on Madison Street, LUXX is part of what makes Ottawa feel special. Helping Meg and Amber bring that energy online wasn’t just a project it was a collaboration between locals who love where they live and want to see it thrive.
